Because I watch Anna during the week I have set the spare bedroom up as her playroom. I had her mom bring over some of her toys… stuffed animals, a baby doll, Little People, Legos… a toy kitchen… and more. Can I get her to play with these when she is here… on a rare occasion. Today I watched her play with about a dozen of my colored pencils… there was a mommy and a daddy… they had a race… she got so involved that she forgot she was hungry and was surprised that lunch was ready. She played with those for at least 20 minutes… sometimes I just love how her mind works… other times not so much…
Anna had a nightmare last night… it had her and Emma in it. Emma was in a stroller and Anna was in her room… and there were zombies after them… she ran and hide in the bathroom… and she told me that she was to scared to protect Emma… I think that really bothered her. She woke up right when the zombie got her… fast forward to this afternoon when I dropped her off at preschool… she was leaning against the truck door when I went to open it and took a tumble out, I was holding Emma and she came out so fast… she’s okay. She told me when she was falling, that was how she felt when the zombie got her… poor little girl.
A little reference: One of Anna’s favorite movies is A Nightmare Before Christmas, loves Halloween and watching Scooby Doo. She talks about zombies, skeletons and ghost all the time… so to say she has a vivid and sometimes a little twisted imagination wouldn’t be a far stretch…
I like to play around with the site SP-Studios… a site where you can build your own South Park character. Anna watched me build a character and wanted to do it too… innocent enough right… so I thought.
This is what you would expect a little girl would have made… I made this one:
Lets just hope this is a phase… she does like her Princesses… fairies… baby dolls…
