Last week started our crazy summer schedule… and with quite a bang. Jenn went to Greensboro, North Carolina for three nights on a business trip. Understandably she hates to leave us for a night, let alone three… we made it through… I sent her nightly pictures of me and the baby girl, they always seems to help. Jenn has trouble sleeping when she’s away, and I found myself not going to bed until almost midnight… and Emma didn’t help by keeping me awake most of the second night… she was defiantly missing her Mommy… so to say we were a little wiped out by the time Jenn returned Thursday night is an understatement. Jenn took Friday off, and after an exhausting, sleepless three nights, we spent it by waking up earlier then usual, going to the zoo with Anna… and shopping all day… I was so tired when we got home, I just wanted to go to bed.
We are leaving Friday to head to South Carolina, Jenn’s cousin is getting married that Saturday and then we have camping planned with Jenn’s family for the rest of the week… I am so looking forward to some camping. I spent my Saturday climbing up and down the attic stairs bringing down the camping gear, finished prepping the trailer… and got to experience a “manly moment” by replacing the bulbs for the headlights on the Trailblazer… the driver’s side conveniently blew after we had the truck worked on… beyond some scratches on my hands, it was actually quite easy.
Sunday we headed over to Mom and Dad’s, we’re going to be gone over Mother’s day and wanted to see them before we left… Mom had an above ground pool (until yesterday), that we put up at least 20 years ago. They just got tired of the constant upkeep… so we tore it down… and like the good scavengers my family is, nothing went to waste. My sister took the decking and pump parts, my brother is going to recycle the metal pieces and Mom and Dad are going to reuse the liner… and make a larger sandbox with the old landscaping timbers… my family has been “green” for years… they reuse old stuff all the time… while we were there my brother Pat and I went and replaced a ceiling fan for one of my other sisters (he took the old one to put in his boy’s room)… threw some horseshoes and ate some barbecue pork and rhubarb crusted cake… once again I was exhausted..
So we’re gone all of next week… Jenn leaves for another night the Monday she returns, we leave to go camping over Memorial day, my nephew Dusty graduates from high school the next Sunday… my sister Theresa and her family come in from California the next week… we’re celebrating my Grandmother’s 90th birthday that weekend…
Annastasia romance update: I found out the boy’s name is Danny, he’s six and finishing up kindergarten, so he’s a year older then she is. It’s promising… he was her hero by giving her a boost when she struggled getting her bike started up the hill… and she is super jealous… after a bike ride we were inside… Anna comes running to me and tells me we have to go outside right now! She told me to come look… then I saw the issue… a preteen girl was riding around with her boy… and she was worried that he would fall in love with that girl and not her… I reassured her that she was way to old for him and not to worry… so tragedy diverted.
Emma turned 7 months old today… she’s getting so big…
