Emma at 9 months
Emma has become mobile… not in the sense of crawling or walking, but slowly and meticulously scooting on her butt. Her curiosity has risen to an amazing level and that motivates her to move and explore… the determination to get her hands on something is amazing… and most of the time its something she shouldn’t have… and the tone of displeasure she gives me when said item is taken away helps me to imagine the episodes of disagreement her and I will undoubtedly have as she evolves into her own little person…

Snuggle Bug - Emma almost a month old
Jenn and I took Emma in for her 9 month check up… she is no longer our little snuggle bug… she weighed in at 19 lbs 8 oz which is 70% for her age group, measured 28 3/4″ (90%) and head size measured at 18 1/4″ (95%!)… the rule of thumb is that you take the height when they’re 2 and double it to get their adult height… with Emma being shy of 3 feet by 7 1/4″ and having 15 months to grow… needless to say Jenn is concerned that she’s going to have to look up at her little girl by the time she’s in 5th grade… at this rate Daddy might have to too…
“Emma, move your head.
Look at the size of that girl’s head.
It’s like an orange on a toothpick.
That’s a huge noggin.
It’s a virtual planetoid.
Has its own weather system!
Head! Move!”
