Emma’s vice…

Emma and her vise.

Emma and her vice.

I learned something today… (besides the difference between vise and vice… I can always count on my buddy Rick for correcting my grammar)… my daughter has a vice… her formula must be in a bottle and not a sippy cup. She has been really adapting quickly to drinking her juice out of a sippy cup and I decided to give her formula to her in one yesterday…

she attacked it with her typical exuberance as normal, but after a while she stopped and would not take another drink… she fought me and pushed it away from her mouth. I didn’t think a whole lot about it because it was mostly gone… so at breakfast this morning I tried the sippy cup again and she attacked it with her familiar fervor… but stopped with over half left and would not take it back… we had a emotional break down… tears and the whole deal. I placed the remaining formula in a bottle and gave it to her with a small resistance at first but after she recognized her bottle she calmed down and finished like normal.

Her time on formula is limited so I have no issues giving it to her in a bottle… so hopefully when we transition to milk it’s more of a flavor thing and not a color thing.

Emma turned 11 months last week… 4 almost 5 teeth… not crawling but scoots on her butt into all kinds of trouble… her birthday is going to be here before I know it.

  1. I don’t know how baby approved a hardware device used to grip things is for Emma, but I have no idea why she would not drink her bottle because she has one.

You should try clamping her head in it and pouring the sippy cup down her throat.

    Oh wait, you mean “vice.”

  2. You’re such a jerk… I almost looked it up, the English language is so hard.

  3. At least you had the sense of humor to publish the comment you moderating fool.
